Sometimes it gets so hard...baby... But my hardrive is probably more on the wobbly side...Computer problems and life in General (Portion Snus) makes the world tumbling down... What I´m trying to say is it´s finally HERE! The report of our adventures in FRANCE! Go see for yourselves!

03-10-08

We´re back from the Le Blues Autour Du Zinc festival! We had a fanstastic time in Beauvais, France. What a place! What a festival! We could notice that everyone involved loved music and for us it seemed like more or less the whole town was involved! In a couple of days we will have some photo´s up when you can see us look confused in different places in France. Watch this space!

There´s too many people that we wanna thank so we can´t mention them all but here´s some we just have to let you know about. Hope I´ve spelled the names right….Great thanks to:

Laurent who decided to book us. Eric and David who pushed us to even try to get there. Alex the smiling sound guy (who at least I forgot to thank properly when I was there Sorry!) Corrine for sorting things out so that everything worked as a charm. Nathalie for, among of a lot of things, the help with info about the trains to Paris. Yes, we ate them ”Escargots”. And of course all the others that was helping out.

Last but not least we wanna send the biggest Merci Beaucoup in the world to our ”babysitters”: The Irish lady Aideen, the amazingly patient Cécil, the energetic, non-drinking(!) Helene. Without these women everything would have been much more complicated. What we probably will remember the most is talking with them about architecture, food and people in Beauvais and France and Växjö. Hey, when can we get back?

01-07-08 New year! New countries! In March Dogbreath will play at the BLUES AUTOUR DU ZINC festival in Beauvais France. Hey we´re getting separate rooms and everything! And they got a cathedral! What more could you want? We´ve built our own lo-fi studio and are recording some songs at the moment...not exactly now but tomorrow we´ll be there...

01-28-05 JoeC´s Review in the next Blues Matters!

It's a dangerous game to play; paying homage to
Waits's singing style. Per Ahman of Sweden's Dogbreath
occasionally strays into that territory, but gets away
with it because - not to put too fine a point on it -
his band are bloody fantastic. The first track of
their second album, Taste It!
(www.snurl.com/dogbreath) sets the tone. There's a
soupcon of Tom; but more of the Screaming Blue
Messiahs, Wilko Johnson-era Dr Feelgood and danceable punkers, Gang Of Four. Indeed the speed-funk of Fuck It Up suggests that James Brown has relatives in
up-country Sweden. Getting to the third song in, Gotta
Go - driven by a monstrous Bastard Son Of Bo Diddley
Beat, shot through with caterwauling slide and
industrial strength rhythm guitar - I was idiot-dancing around the bedroom throwing shapes with imaginary axe in hand. Then blow me if, next up, they don't launch into Hold Me, the toughest pop song I've heard in many a moon. If Franz Ferdinand can chart so can this extraordinarily talented lot. Fuzz, cut, crunch and in the midst of all that, GROOVE with a capital GRRRRRRR...!!
